World Library and Information Congress: 74th IFLA General Conference and Council"Libraries without borders: Navigating towards global understanding"10-14 August 2008, Québec, Canada ![]() Call for PapersNewspapers SectionTheme: The North American Ethnic Press The IFLA Newspapers Section invites researchers and others involved in this area of work to express their interest in making presentations at the Section's programme in Québec. Canada and the United States have rich multicultural and aborginal populations, There are several features that make Canadian newspaper publishing special:
Send a detailed abstract (1 page or at least 300 words) of the proposed paper (must not have been published elsewhere) and relevant biographical information of author(s)/presenter(s) by 30 November 2007 via email to: Ed King The abstracts will be reviewed by members of the Newspapers Section's Standing Committee. Successful proposals will be identified by 31 January 2008. Full papers will be due by 15 April 2008 to allow time for review of papers and preparation of translations; papers should be no longer than 20 pages. 15-20 minutes will be allowed for a summary delivery of the paper during the Newspaper Section's programme. Please note that the expenses of attending the Québec conference will be the responsibility of the author(s)/presenter(s) of accepted papers. | |
