Invitation to Exhibitors and SponsorsThe Exhibition will take place from August 23 to 26 in Atlantico and Pacifico Halls, at Hilton Hotel, venue of the Conference. Invitation to ExhibitorsWhat is IFLA? Founded in 1927, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is an independent international non-governmental association. The aims of IFLA are to promote international understanding, cooperation, discussion, research and development in all fields of library activity and information science, and to provide a body through which librarianship can be represented in matters of international interest. IFLA has 1749 members, including 155 associations, 1118 institutions and 425 non-voting personal and student affiliates, representing 154 countries and all types of libraries. The World Library and Information Congress is the continuation of the IFLA General Conference and Council and it brings together each August over 3000 delegates to share knowledge, debate professional issues, see the latest products of the information industry and conduct business. The conference is an event keenly contested on the international stage and will be hosted for the first time in South America in 2004. The Asociación de Bibliotecarios Graduados de la República Argentina (ABGRA) is delighted that IFLA has chosen Buenos Aires and Argentina to hold its 70th Conference. Why Exhibit? Despite all the new communication technologies, face-to-face contact is much preferred and still the most successful way of doing business. No sales catalogue can perform as well as personal contact and hands-on product demonstrations. At the World Library and Information Congress 2004, you will have the best opportunity to renew existing customer loyalty, reinforce your branding and reach entirely new markets like the MERCOSUR* and the rest of Latin America. Your international audience will be senior librarians and information professionals from all over the world. They will come from national, regional and local authority libraries, blue chip corporations, major universities, institutions, and specialized and general libraries worldwide. They will be the decision-makers and chief buyers. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to meet all delegates and visitors at the first World Library and Information Congress in South America.
