Call for Conference Papers Genealogy and Local History
Theme: Resources for Immigrant History: Their Origins, Lives, and Contributions
The Genealogy and Local History Section is organizing an open session at the forthcoming World Library and Information Congress, Buenos Aires, Argentina, August 22-27, 2004.
Papers are cordially invited on the session theme: "Resources for Immigrant History: Their Origins, Lives, and Contributions."
Papers must deal with information sources in archives, libraries, museums, government agencies, community associations, other record repositories and/or on the WWW.
Four papers will be selected for presentation.
If you are interested in presenting a paper on the topic, please send your proposal (title and brief synopsis with your name, affiliation and address, preferred in a Word e-mail attachment, but fax or mail copies will be alright) by January 20, 2004 to:

A decision on papers accepted for presentation will be made by March 1st, 2004.
May 1st is the deadline for the full paper submission. Authors will be asked to send their completed paper in English or one of the four other recognized languages of IFLA, French, German, Russian or Spanish. This will allow time for translation and publication in the Conference Proceedings.
Please note that all fees, including registration to the conference,
travel, accommodation etc., are the responsibility of the authors of the
accepted papers.
