Standing Committee and Section Membership

The Standing Committee has 11 members from seven countries, plus four corresponding members. Section registration stands at 104.

Publications

No issues of the Section's Newsletter were produced during the past year. Catherine Pinion (UK), Chair of the Round Table on AV Media, was unable to prepare the Section pamphlet No. 5 on AV Storage i n Libraries.

Future Conferences

Istanbul 1995

Given the theme of the Conference, "Libraries in the Future", the Section plans to focus on "Smart Buildings". Architects would be encouraged to attend and present papers.

Havana Meetings

The Chair and Secretary staffed the IFLA booth for one hour during the conference week, and distributed copies of the Section's publicity brochure and other leaflets. It held an open session at which the following papers were presented:

Abstract
Se presenta la situación de la construcción de edificios para bibliotecas en Cuba en distintas epocas. Se subraya la construccion se aquellas amparadas por el Convenio firmado entre los Ministerios de Cultura y de la Industria Azucarera. Se expone la amplia experiencia cubana en la adaptacion de distintos tipos de construcciones para su utilización como bibliotecas.
