Bibliographic Standard GUI Icon Set

The following pages provide links to a set of suggested standard icons for use with Bibliographic database applications. The purpose of the set is to provide an international, standardized set of icons which are free of copyright and are available for use by application developers and publishers. It is hoped that by providing this set, a more consistent method of accessing bibliographic databases can be developed.

The set contains three main types of icons, one to depict actions that are taken by a user (for example Search or Print) , one to depict search operators (likely to be used to restrict search critera), and one to depict fields which are available for a given bibliographic reference. A more detailed description has been published as an Internet Draft.
