Site Search IFLA This section In This Section Strategic Plan Conferences & Meetings Publications Newsletter Reports Minutes of Meetings Annual Reports Mailing Lists Useful Addresses Archive	Bibliography Section The Section on Bibliography is primarily concerned with the content, arrangement, production, dissemination and preservation of bibliographic information, especially (but not exclusively) where these pertain to national bibliographic services. It is also concerned with the promotion of the importance of the discipline of bibliography to library professionals in all types of library (not just national libraries), to publishers, distributors and retailers and also to end-users. Whilst taking full account of technological possibilities, the Section is aware that such developments are not yet available in some areas of the world, and it will ensure that its solutions are not necessarily dependent on particular technologies. The Section is closely associated, where appropriate, not only with the other Sections within the Division of Bibliographic Control and with the UBCIM Programme, but also with the Sections on Information Technology and of National Libraries. The survey is a result of an initiative by the IFLA Bibliography Section to gather and update information on the status of the national bibliographies in the regions where the World Library and Information Congress' are being held. 10 national bibliographic agencies (NBAs) have responded to the survey. Survey on the state of national bibliographies in Asia This paper presents the results of a survey on national bibliographies in Asia. The survey is a result of an initiative by the IFLA Bibliography Section to gather and update information on the status of the national bibliographies in the regions where the World Library and Information Congress' are being held. Survey of European National Libraries: Composite Data The survey has been prepared to assist the Section in gathering more comprehensive information on selection criteria used by national bibliographic agencies in preparing their countries' national bibliography. With the exponential availability of web and other digital resources, the Section felt a critical need to address how national bibliographic agencies were incorporating these resources into the national bibliography.
