Explanation about the Guidelines. Discussion with the audience. Best practices in slide form? (SC members will send the examples of "best practice" or "what's new in the library"?) |
- 30 min. - 10 - 15 |
For the slideshow of best practices there must be a format for a PowerPoint presentation and for the IFLANET.
Ivanka will make this format (1 picture, 2 sentences, contact address).
May 15 is the deadline for the equipment form (Form E) so before that date the format for the slideshow must be send out to members of SC in April.
Printing the Guidelines is much easier when using the Indesign software. With the Indesign you can put the translation in that software without scanning or changing the layout and then put it in pdf for print.
Some members got the software (cd-rom) so they can print the translations.
On the Iflanet the background text will be published (deadline for the Elisabth's part (the resources) the end of March.
Ivanka arranges with Sophie:
Translation to Spanish gives a lot of problems because the National Organisation must print in Spanish. Difficulties in getting in touch with the right persons (e-mail changes and so on)
Translation to Portuguese: Leikny will contact Maria(???)
Possible new projects are discussed.

E.G.:Further brainstorm will follow in Buenos Aires.
The Section received many emails from all over the world, from librarians who are interested in having a paper at the conference.
They are suggested to prepare the poster for the Poster Sessions and the article for the Newsletter.
Corresponding Members: 5 allowed, only to be used in case of need. If there is the contact in the country or region (like Maryland should contact Kathy and Virginia) we don’t agreed with Corresponding Member. But the librarian from Maryland is welcome to be the observer in Buenos Aires.
Mail from Cameroon: could be a Corresponding Member
Mail from Nigeria: asked for money which we don’t have but got the suggestions about other organisations
Evaluating Sections.
All sections must be evaluated by the members and some external people. We don’t wont to be the first one….
It was a very good Midyear meeting, hard work and we saw some fine examples of libraries.
