    		• The National Library of Canada and OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. are pleased to host the 8th International Dublin Core Metadata Initiative Workshop, co-sponsored by the IFLA UDT Core Programme.

    The Dublin Core Metadata Invitational Workshop Series began in March of 1995, convening a broad range of information professionals to address the problem of improving resource discovery on the Internet. This is the eighth workshop in the series directed towards furthering the development and promotion of the Dublin Core metadata.

    The goal of the DC-8 Workshop will be to consolidate the developments of the various Dublin Core working groups, to share implementation experiences, to promote Dublin Core in supporting interoperability amongst heterogeneous metadata systems.
