World Library and Information Congress in 2008

Québec or Rome?

IFLA received five expressions of interest to host the World Library and Information Congress in 2008. The Governing Board, on the advice of the Conference Planning Committee, decided on a short-list of two: Québec and Rome.

The invitation to Québec comes from Association pour l'Avancement des Sciences et des Techniques de la Documentation (ASTED).

The invitation to Rome was made by Associazione Italiana Biblioteche (AIB).

The decision on the host for 2008 will be announced during the closing session at the World Library and Information Congress: 69th IFLA Conference and council in Berlin on Friday 8th August.
