Request to all IFLA National Association membersIFLA is continuing its efforts to develop a fair and clear system for the calculation of fees for our National Association members. The Working Group responsible for this task requests all National Association members to provide information to assist us with a financial modelling exercise. We are trying to create a system in which everyone pays according to their means. In order to do so, we must have input from you. Without it, we will be unable to move forward for the benefit of all associations and IFLA. The request:Please provide figures of your total operating expenses (how much your association spent) in each year for 2002, 2001 and 2000. The figures should be in your local currency. If figures are not available for each of the three years, please send the most recent figures you have. The deadline for return of this information is 14 January 2004. Please send the information to: At the World Library and Information Congress held in Berlin this year, a new Working Group was formed to continue the work of developing a new system for the calculation of National Association membership fees. This Working Group consists of 6 members of the Standing Committee of the Management of Library Associations (MLA) Section, plus the IFLA Treasurer, Secretary General and Membership Manager. The Working Group met on 1-2 December, and has devised a methodology which now needs to be tested in order to determine its impact on members. We need to have this portion of the exercise completed prior to the mid-year meeting of the MLA Section which will take place in February 2004. If you have any questions, or wish to have more information, please contact any of the members of the Working Group. Thank you very much for your continued assistance.
